Melinda Dillon who played Ralphies mother in "A Christmas Story" passed away on January 9. Pete will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Pete worked for the National Park Service as a guide and in later years did "Jean Shepherd Radio Classics" on Staten Island Community Television. He often wrote Shep related articles for Movie Collector's World and even a letter to the editor of the Staten Island Advance in response to a negative Rex Reed review of "A Christmas Story" in 1983.
Known to his friends in the Shep community as "Ranger Pete", we have been honored over the years to hear many of he Jean Shepherd radio programs that Pete recorded and passed along to Max to play on his various radio programs.
